Wardwell letters, 1880-1888 (bulk 1885-1886).

Thirty-five letters, from Wardwell to his parents, written while traveling around Arizona, relate his impressions of various cities, the difficulties of travel, fear of Apache raids, weather, life in military camps, and more. Most letters are from Fort Thomas, Silver King, and Tucson, Ariz. He mentions Henry C. Hooker's ranch, activities on the San Carlos Indian Reservation, and substituting for Dr. Kinnaird in Silver King, Ariz.
